Power For The People are a global Non for profit organisation working with communities in the African/Asian continent to create sustainable futures with renewable energy.
ECG are supporting those efforts by sponsoring Biodigester toilets for an orphanage and school for 700 children – an innovative solution that turns the mountains of human waste from a problem into an asset.
That asset being to convert the methane emitted into biogas to power hot showers and gas cooking facilities within the centres – as well as lighting.
Additionally, methane is a greenhouse gas. If released into the atmosphere it is many times worse for the environment than CO2. A double whammy that makes a big difference to the lives of communities – and also the planet.
