ECG were delighted to be awarded the contract for the Air Handling Unit and Ancillary Systems Upgrade at the Glasgow Royal Infirmary Endoscopy Unit in mid-2020. ECG Facilities Services’ dedicated Projects and Installations Department have a solid track record in successfully delivering air handling unit replacements, installations and upgrades on behalf of a large variety of health and public sector organisations throughout Scotland which made us well placed to ensure this project was delivered to a high standard for NHS GG&C. The project works themselves were carried out by ECG’s dedicated in-house Projects Department who delivered the provision of new air handling unit services and minor alterations to the existing services. Any requirements for specialist services were undertaken by ECG’s approved specialist subcontract partners, with the procurement, management and auditing handled by ECG’s Projects Team. This project called for works to be undertaken within a live hospital environment, which was to remain live and operational throughout the contract, meaning ECG worked in close collaboration with NHS GGC’s on-site team to segregate works and ensure the safety of any personnel within and around the works room area whilst these essential works were completed.
