ECG Facilities Services have partnered with Ashdown Phillips and Birchwood Shopping Centre to deliver a local sustainability initiative focused on supporting wildlife and improving biodiversity in the surrounding Warrington area.

In support of the declining bee population and the broader ecological needs of the local environment, ECG have funded and installed beehives at a nearby nature reserve adjacent to Birchwood. These hives now house over 30,000 bees, contributing directly to the preservation and enhancement of Risley Moss – a designated Site of Special Scientific Interest and valuable mossland habitat.

This initiative, part of ECG’s broader ESG commitments, was developed in close collaboration with our client teams and reflects our ongoing drive to support local communities and contribute meaningfully to environmental stewardship. The bees will play a critical role in supporting pollination, helping plant life in the mossland thrive and strengthening the natural balance of the area’s ecosystem.
