ECG Facilities Services are delighted to congratulate our very own John Chambers CEng MIET on his appointment as Lanarkshire Branch Chair of SELECT – the trade association for electrical contracting in Scotland – in this milestone 125^th anniversary year.

This prestigious appointment is a reflection of John’s expertise, dedication and influence within the industry. SELECT plays a crucial role in driving standards and representing the electrical contracting sector across Scotland, making John’s new position a testament to his leadership and commitment to excellence.

The announcement was made during SELECT’s Lanarkshire Branch Update at New College Lanarkshire, where members gathered for an evening of industry discussions, technical presentations and insight into apprenticeship development.

We spoke to John about his appointment and what it means to him:

“I was delighted to be elected as Lanarkshire Branch Chair of SELECT. I’ve been involved in the Electrical Contracting and Building Services Sectors for over 40 years, and have been active in SELECT for most of that time.

Although this is a personal achievement for myself, it’s also recognition for ECG and Mecsia for their continual support of SELECT.

I’m looking to continue the good work carried out by the Branch and to bring my own individuality and experience to help shape and promote the electrical industry at a national level.”

John’s long-standing contributions to the sector make him a fantastic fit for this role and we have no doubt that he will continue to make a positive impact in shaping the future of electrical contracting.
