OVERVIEW

Following a highly competitive public tendering process, ECG Facilities Services were delighted to be award the contract for the delivery of the Mechanical Ventilation Upgrade Works at St Luke’s High School in Barrhead on behalf of East Renfrewshire Council. This project involved the replacement and upgrade of the existing fans and HRUs at the school that had come to the end of their useful operational lifespan in order to improve ventilation levels across the school to comply with new guidelines following the COVID-19 pandemic. After close liaison with the Council, we completed these essential works during the school holidays where some school staff were on-site, as well as some required works during term-time when the school was occupied. In order to minimise disruption during the occupied times, we closely scheduled the works with the Council to keep our engineers “invisible” whilst the project was undertaken, minimising disruption as much as possible. We worked in collaboration with another contractor on site who were delivering the window replacements for three stairwells. Upon final handover, the Council were delighted with a project that was delivered successfully on time, on budget and as per specification.
