OVERVIEW

Due to the location of the existing chiller, ECG were aware that a crane would be required for the safe removal of the redundant equipment and installation of the new kit. When planning the works, ECG also had to consider the building works that were taking place next door and what impact bringing in a crane and equipment would have. All works were undertaken in conjunction with the client and other local businesses – and the craneage operation was undertaken over a weekend to minimise disruption to the client’s working environment. Following the installation of the new equipment the client has seen numerous benefits, including: • Soft-start running – making the new equipment much more efficient; • Reduced power usage; • Removal of old and redundant gases, which are replaced with an ozone friendly alternate.

BACKGROUND

ECG were successfully awarded the contract to remove the existing chiller and replace this with a new up-to-date piece of kit which would be much more efficient and offered built in variable speed pumps.
