ECG were delighted to be awarded the contract to undertake the Upgrade of Ventilation and Mechanical Systems at the Vale of Leven District General Hospital in West Dunbartonshire.
The project works were commissioned in order to make alterations in a bid to resolve ventilation problems which were occurring within the hospital’s Audiology Department which is contained within an extension to the hospital.
As such, we were required to replace the existing ventilation system, which was installed in 2004, to serve 3 offices, a meeting room, admin area, locker room, store and server room.
The project works themselves were carried out by ECG’s dedicated in-house Projects Department who delivered the installation and commissioning of replacement air handling unit, chilled water pipework and chiller, controls and all associated pipework and valves.
Much of the works were carried out on the roof and within plant spaces, however, as the works were undertaken within an operational hospital, we liaised with the hospital to carry out any required works within operational staff/patient areas outside of normal working hours.
Any requirements for specialist services were undertaken by our approved specialist subcontract partners, with the procurement, management and auditing of such subcontractors handled by our dedicated Subcontractor Management Team.
ECG operated as Principal Contractor for the entire project and delivered a high quality works package to NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde who were delighted with the standards achieved.
