ECG Facilities Services were delighted in 2021 to be awarded the contract to deliver the new Undersoil Heating Packaged Plantroom project at Ibrox Stadium in Glasgow on behalf of Rangers Football Club. The scope of this project involved an intricate design and a complex scope of works to facilitate the installation of a new boiler, plant serving the undersoil heating within the stadium and the construction, supply and installation of a new containerised boiler plant room situated within the stadium footprint requiring the combined expertise of ECG FS (Main Contractor), Innovated Design Solutions (Building Services Design Consultancy) and Craigalan Controls (BMS, Control Panel, Commissioning) to ensure a successful outcome was delivered to Rangers' high specifications. Prior to the installation of the new containerised boiler plant room, extensive construction and builders work was required, including the excavation of a trench running from the internal of the stadium to the location of this new plant room, the provision of a new concrete base for the plant room and fabrication of the new plant room itself to a high quality finish The works were undertaken in close liaison with the Rangers Estates Team based at Ibrox Stadium, with all works following a closely formulated programme to ensure the project was undertaken with minimum disruption to the day-to-day
activities at the stadium. The full scope of works and installation of all new boilers and the associated plant was delivered on time, to specification and within budget - leaving the Club's Project Manager delighted as they commented their approval on the finished result of an "exceptional new plant room which will serve Rangers FC well for the foreseeable future".
