Working with Stirling Community Enterprise: Empowering through Skills Development & Mentorship
9 May 2024

Savills, The Thistles Shopping Centre, Stirling Community Enterprise and ECG Facilities Services have collaborated to create a transformative programme aimed at supporting a young adult who has faced recent challenges. This initiative seeks to address anti-social behaviour by providing practical skills, work experience and a strong work ethic.

Finn, the participant in this programme, will have the unique opportunity to learn directly from ECG Engineers who are based on-site over a 12 week period. By working alongside these professionals, he will gain hands-on experience and develop essential skills that can benefit him in the future – with a focus is not only on technical knowledge, but also adopting a positive work attitude.

Upon successful completion of the full 12 weeks, ECG will reward Finn with his very own toolkit, serving as a tangible reminder of his achievements and further enhancing the skills he has acquired during the programme. The Thistle’s Centre are also going to provide driving lessons for Finn to also assist him on his personal development journey.

This collaboration between The Thistles Shopping Centre, Stirling Community Enterprise and ECG exemplifies how community organisations and businesses can come together to make a meaningful impact on an individual’s life. By providing practical tools and mentorship, they are empowering Finn to build a brighter future for himself.

Scottish Minister Siobhan Brown also recently met with the Stirling Community Enterprise, Ryan Ritchie and Gary Turnbull from The Thistles Shopping Centre to hear about the project. Stating she was “struck by the commitment of those involved who are making a real difference to individual lives and benefiting the community. I would be grateful if you could pass on my thanks to all partners as well as to those who shared the impact that the project is making directly to them. In giving people hope, opportunities and working in a holistic way, your work is making a great impact”.
